Storm Damage – Tampa Community Center

Storm damage occurred at this Tampa community center when a strong band of thunderstorms opened up a leak in the roof of the building allowing volumes of dirty water to pour onto the carpeting in the facility. The director of the center knew SERVPRO of West Tampa’s work and capabilities to handle large commercial water damage situations. So SERVPRO was his first call after the insurance company. When confronted with this sort of damage, our trained technicians would begin with locating the source of the water and facilitating repair of the source. This could involve repairing a leak or breach in the roof or even creating a new surface for the entire building. The technicians would begin water extraction as soon as they reached the site. If tarps were necessary to keep additional water from entering the building, they would provide them. If the water were dirty as in this case, they would provide commercial carpet cleaning. Air movers and dehumidifiers would be set up to help return the air quality to acceptable levels and to facilitate the drying process.
